Review: LG Optimus Hub (E510)

LG again offer a series of new Optimus Android smartphone for the consumer audience. This time, Optimus Hub presented to accommodate the middle segment. Looking at his position, it seems this phone as a replacement for its predecessor was asked Optimus One, which appeared with newer Android versions as well as an increase in the hardware sector.

Dimensions: 6:08 x 1:19 x 11:34 cm, 123 grams; full touchscreen; gorilla glass and plastic material; the power / lock, microUSB port, volume rocker (around phones from the top). Three capacitive buttons below the screen (the menu, home and back).

Optimus Android Hub appeared with the formation of most, Full touchscreen candy bar. Coated screen part of the famous Gorilla scratch-resistant glass, so at least you do not have to bother installing an anti-scratch coating to protect it. Unlike the Optimus One, this phone has touch sensitive keys that seemed more sophisticated than conventional keys.

TFT capacitive touchscreen, 256K colors, 320 x 480 pixels, 3.5 inches (~ 165 ppi pixel density), multi-touch. Optimus Screen Hub is fairly broad for seharganya phone. But unfortunately the color depth also increased but not limited to 256 thousand colors like Optimus One. Responsiveness of the screen fairly well though not as instant dual-core Android smartphone, such as Optimus 2X. Viewing angle of the phone is also quite broad when it comes to visibility, but the quality is a particular point of view on the decline, especially in color.

Chipset: Qualcomm MSM7227?, CPU: 800 MHz ARM v6, GPU: Adreno 200. Despite having a clock speed that is not so big and still single core, at least Optimus Hub equipped with GPU (Graphics processing unit) apart, so the graphics rendering process is not imposed on the CPU, which means users can play games or watching videos much smoother than using a phone that does not has a dedicated GPU. With this kind of hardware specs, the phone should be able to meet the needs of beginners without encountering significant problems in the performance of the phone. And it is shown by Optimus Hub during the test.

5 MP, 2592? 1944 pixels, autofocus, geo-tagging, zoom, scene modes, color effects. Optimus camera features on the Hub is not exactly feature-rich but not too skimpy features. Users are only offered a number of standard features such as zoom, exposure value settings, resolution, ISO, white balance, timer, image quality. What is special about belonging to a special selection of only six scene modes and 4 color effects. Auto focus camera feature on this phone is working to set focus automatically when the camera lens is directed to a different place, not by means of pressing the shutter.

Maximum VGA resolution (640x480 pixels), color zoom effect. Video recorder features Optimus Hub has even fewer features than when the camera is in photo mode. You'll still find only a zoom feature, EV setting, limit the recording time, color effects, quality video, and voice recorder.

Multi-tabs, RSS feeds, HTML, read it later, bookmarks, history, Downloads, Pinch Zoom, share page. Just like a samrtphone based on Android, of course, Optimus Hub has a feature-rich browser that can be relied upon. Features such as multiple tabs, RSS and share page is also available. A unique feature provides browser Read it later, where the user can mark a page that has not had time to read to be opened later. This feature works like a bookmark, it's just the pages you have opened from the list will be automatically deleted. A similar feature is found on the IOS device's Safari browser version 5.

GPRS Class 12 (32-48 kbps), EDGE Class 12, HSDPA, 3.6 Mbps; 384 Kbps HSUPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Wi-Fi hotspots, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, microUSB v2.0, On-Screen LG Phone and WiFi Cast. Besides the standard connectivity options Optimus Hub also supports On-Screen Phone LG where you can control the phone through the computer screen. To do so you must install the On Screen Phone LG software on your computer first.
There are also features WiFi and WiFi Direct Cast that allows the device with the same features and is connected to the same WiFi network can also connect to each other and exchanging files such as pictures, video and music.

Hub does exactly replace Optimus Optimus One position that has begun to wear out. With more new Android version as well as an increase in processor clock speed, this phone would offer something more than the predecessor. Although still lacking, it seems reasonable given that the offer price is quite affordable.
